Aguti’s history is one of progress, growth and partnerships,
and we remain committed to continuing this into the future.
The emergence
of seats in a greenhouse ...
From its beginning with an innovative idea of a belt-integrated seat, Aguti has become an indispensable partner for the recreational vehicle and automotive industry.
Aguti’s history goes back to 1993 in a former greenhouse in Kressbronn, which was quickly converted into a production space to develop and build the first seats for Knaus, achieved with just a handful of employees.
Other motorhome manufacturers soon became aware of the emerging company and its innovative product. The small, regional family business quickly developed into an international operation, continuously expanding its team.
A move to larger premises in Langenargen in 2003 and the purchase of its own fleet of delivery vehicles helped the company continue to expand and develop its services.
In 2012, a tensile testing system was installed and put into operation, allowing tensile tests to be conducted in house, reducing the time to approve individual products.
Six years later, the facility was expanded to include a modern logistics centre, offices and space for the design department.
In October 2019, an agreement was reached for the takeover of AGUTI Produktentwicklung & Design GmbH by ALOIS KOBER GMBH, with Aguti continuing to operate as an independent unit within AL-KO Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH. Since 2016, AL-KO has also been part of the DexKo Group, the world‘s leading manufacturer of axles and chassis components in the light vehicle segment. With this joint strategic step, Aguti opened a new chapter in its history. Belonging to the AL-KO family brings Aguti access to in-depth systems knowledge and an extensive sales network in the recreational vehicle industry, in Europe and beyond.
